My auntie gifted me a jump rope for Christmas ‘17
And I used it here and there…
It honestly wasn’t until 2020 during quarantine I started to jump rope more.
Why did it take so long to get started?
I was focused on weight training and lifting heavy before
But since the gyms go from open/closed and capacity is always changing
I wanted an activity I could do every day, anywhere,
And most of all,
I wanted to get back in control of my wellness.
I was in a funk because the gyms were closed and I was waiting…
But I couldn’t sit cause I could feel myself getting anxious about that “Quarantine-15” — I REFUSE.
And I don’t like running outside,
Mostly because I live downtown and it’s just too much traffic and too many stoplights.
So I picked up my jump rope and I’m just now tracking my progress: 41 minutes is my longest time.
I jump 1 min. Rest 1 min.
Sometimes during my rest I’ll do squats or lunges
Sometimes.
I know people are looking for other physical activity options.
Try jump rope!
Try HIIT workouts-
There’s a bunch of free ones a Google, Instagram, or YouTube search away.
Try the 100 burpees / day challenge.
Try something.
I urge you, please don’t wait for the gyms to open.
Take control of your journey and figure out how to adjust your goals
Within quarantine parameters.
I chose to commit to jump rope.
I’ll share my progress, but of course gimme some time to make some progress
