How journaling helped me move on
I was journaling a lot after heartbreak. It helped me realize: I think we carry the people we’ve loved with us forever. Not in a ‘never gonna get over them’ kind of way but more like loving them changed us and it meant something... And we have to make peace with that. Weird to say now cause ya girl was a wreck wreck but I guess I’m thankful for the experience. We’ve all had some heartbreak because we are all humans. Loss, tragedy, and grief come with the human experience. But God! He isn’t human. He will always be a lover, forgiver, healer, redeemer. We just gotta get to know him. Thank God there’s more life and love to know.
Things you can do to move on from the past:
Pray
Talk to God about it. He is about to do something new for you too! Only if you let em. Be on the lookout vs missing out because you’re stuck in the past.
Journal
Get those thoughts out and put them into words on paper. Things make more sense when thoughts aren’t flying crazy in your mind.
Read the Bible
Fill your mind with the good word. Instead of the coulda, woulda, shoulda. Read out loud scriptures that speak to your spirit.
Phone a family member or friend
We have all been through some tough times. No we don’t experience the same events but there’s only so many emotions we can feel. You are not alone. A friend can either give you space to vent, give you a new perspective, or help get you out the funk and into some fun.
Renew your mind
Complete the same self-awareness journaling activities, and learn the same scriptures and positive quotes I used to renew & transform my mind from daily negative self-talk and self-doubt to being focused on self-care, faith-based positivity, growth and purpose. Read "Got Lemons?".
