Weight Loss Truths No One Talks About (From Someone Who’s Been There)
Share
There are so many mixed messages about "losing weight fast." Some advice comes from people who’ve never experienced obesity or weight loss themselves—so how would they know what really works? Others are just marketing tactics to sell products. And some are genuinely trying to help. So, how do we know who to trust?
After being on my wellness journey for over 10 years, I’ve learned to do my own research, experiment, and see what actually works.
The biggest truth I’ve learned? Losing weight is hard, staying consistent is a challenge, and long-lasting results take time. Once you accept that, the journey becomes a lot more tolerable.
I Lost 81 Pounds—My Way
Imagine my shock when I found my before-and-after photos being stolen and used in fake weight loss ads.
That’s why I watermark my pictures now. There are people out there trying to convince vulnerable people that they can’t lose weight without some magic product.
Three hard truths...
- There is no shortcut to major weight transformation.
- Sustainable results require time, patience, and real effort.
- Muscle cannot be "artificially created"—it has to be trained and built over time.
Too often, we focus on what we need to lose instead of what we need to gain.
Instead of constantly cutting and depriving ourselves, we need to focus on giving ourselves more:
✅ More time.
✅ More patience.
✅ More dedication.
✅ More real, nourishing foods.
✅ More movement that we actually enjoy.
The Breaks, the Setbacks, and the Wins
My journey wasn’t perfect. I took breaks. I yo-yo'd. But I never gained all the weight back—and that in itself is worth celebrating.
The biggest lesson? Don’t believe everything you read about weight loss just because it’s on TV or in a magazine. Some people just want your money and don’t care about your health. Instead, do your own research, and seek advice from those who have been through the journey themselves.
The Truth About Weight Loss Products
Before purchasing any weight loss supplement, ask yourself:
❓ Do I know what’s actually in this?
❓ Have I researched the ingredients?
❓ Will this help me build long-term healthy habits, or is it a quick fix?
I've tried powders and pills before—and all I got was loose skin and fainting episodes. It wasn’t until I stopped chasing shortcuts that I finally saw the results I truly wanted.
What Actually Worked for Me
1️⃣ Drinking more water – at least 120 oz daily.
2️⃣ Lifting weights consistently – 3-4 days per week.
3️⃣ Eating more whole, unprocessed foods – focusing on fresh ingredients.
4️⃣ Practicing patience & self-compassion – because real change takes time.
